JP Members, family and friends who need our prayers::
  • LUCIELLE WHITT has moved to the Gardens of Huntsville, Room 410. This is an assisted living facility which is located on Bailey Cove Road. She is feeling much better.
  • DANIEL ALEXANDER had a cyst removed from the back of his knee on Tuesday. He is home from the hospital and doing well. The family is awaiting the results of lab tests.
  • STEVE BASHAM, who is the father of SHANE & SHELBY BASHAM, will return to UAB on Monday and get the results of his biopsy. His address will be posted on the front lobby bulletin board today.
  • TOL BURK has returned to Tennessee. His condition has improved, but he is still very sick. He has pancreatitis.
  • JP members battling cancer are BOBBY GOODE, BETTY REAVIS, & CASSIE WATTS.

  • DOMINICA TRIP: On July 16, 10 members from JP traveled to Dominica to work with the brethren there to conduct a VBS and support a gospel meeting. The group included: Jeff, Martha and Seth Archer, Donna Fredrick, Ben and Stacey Walker, Shane Basham, Leigh, Jamie and Michael Hubbard. Please pray for both the teaching effort and safe travel.

    JP Members, family and friends who need our prayers::
    RUBY TRAVIS had surgery Wednesday to repair a hernia. Everything went well and she was scheduled to go home from the hospital this weekend.
  • SHANE and SHELBY BASHAM’s father, STEVE BASHAM, went home from UAB Friday. His surgery went well and his recovery is going smoothly. He should receive his test results this week.
  • TOL BURK, the father of former JP member KRISTIANA BURK, who is a gospel preacher, is in the ICU in Puerto Rico. His condition remains very serious.
  • ELLA WHITE, who recently had eye surgery, has seen much improvement in her vision.
  • JP members battling cancer are BOBBY GOODE, BETTY REAVIS, & CASSIE WATTS.

  • MEN’S MEETING: The monthly men’s business meeting with the elders will be held Monday night, 7PM at the church bldg.

    DOMINICA TRIP: On July 16, a group of 10 members from JP will travel to Dominica to teach a VBS in the mornings and support a gospel meeting each evening. If you would like to help with the costs of this trip, contact JEFF ARCHER. There is also a need for drivers with vans to help transport the group to the Atlanta airport.

    LADIES LECTURESHIP: The Ladies Lectureship with LIZ ROBERTS is scheduled for Aug 20 & 21. The topic will be the "Song of Solomon."

    FALL GOSPEL MEETING with DAN PETERS is scheduled for Nov 14-17.

    TRAVELING: The Whites are in Myrtle Beach, SC. Susan Yell is visiting her mother in Florida. She will return Wednesday. Evan Yell will leave Tuesday for a 10 day trip to Manitoba, Canada.

    SYMPATHY: We have had several of our JP family to lose loved ones this past week. Please keep all these families in your prayers.

  • Our sympathy goes out to MARK SMITH and his family in the passing of his nephew, Smith Snuggs, who died in a drowning accident earlier this week. He was only 3 years old and lived in North Carolina. MARK and LITA have traveled to NC to be with the family.
  • We also extend our sympathy to DEBBIE HARBIN in the passing of her cousin, Larry Weber, who was killed in a car accident on Thursday. Larry’s wife is currently hospitalized as a result of the wreck.
  • Our sympathy is also with COREY and WAYNE BASWELL in the passing of their grandmother, Willie Mae Baswell. Her funeral was Friday in Robertsdale.
  • Sympathy is also extended to DIANA NASH in the passing of her aunt, Betty Harris. Her funeral was also Friday in New Hope.

  • RUBY TRAVIS is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday to repair a hernia.

  • DIANE CLAXTON’S uncle, Leroy Word, is in HSV Hospital. He has cancer.

  • Former JP member MARY RUTH MCPEAK will soon begin radiation treatments for cancer.

    JP Members, family and friends who need our prayers::
  • MARY DELL GOODE is recovering at home after having a heart stint implanted last week.
  • ELLA WHITE had eye surgery Thursday.
  • BOBBY GOODE underwent a brain scan Thursday at CCI. BOBBY has been fighting leukemia for several years.
  • DAN HARRISON’S mother, Verna Harrison was moved to the Athens Convalescent Center Friday following a several day stay in the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
  • CHELSEA HARRISON was suffering with a severe migraine last week. He is taking medication for it now and is improving. CHELSEA is in school at Auburn.
  • HAZEL GRUBBS’s nephew, Timothy Foster, is in Room 213 at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He has suffered severe weight loss and the doctor has inserted a feeding tube. He is in serious condition.
  • SHANE and SHELBY BASHAM’S father, Steve Basham, who has been fighting brain cancer for some, will soon undergo a biopsy after a recent MRI indicated a new problem.

    VBS: Thanks to all the teachers and helpers for putting on a wonderful VBS last week. Attendance set all-time records for a JP VBS. A daily average of 264 exceeded the previous high by nearly 40.

    TRAVELING: JEREMY HAMILTON left Saturday to assist in a preaching trip to Texas and Mexico. He will return home on July 8.

    TRAVELING: JEREMY HAMILTON will be traveling on a preaching trip to Texas and Mexico. He leaves June 26th and returns July 8th. He will be working with Basilio Munoz, a Spanish-speaking preacher from Athens, and Brent Mann.

    RYAN YELL is at Camp Blanding, FL training with his National Guard unit. He is scheduled to return home June 26.

    BILL and MARLENE HODGES are traveling most of this month.

  • DOROTHY CASTEEL saw a neurologist at Vanderbilt Univ. in Nashville last Monday in connection with her Parkinson’s. The doctor increased the dosage of her medication and she will return to Vanderbilt in 3 months to follow up.
  • PAULINE YELL has not been feeling well this past week.

    ELDERS SELECTION: Please submit your list of men you feel are scripturally qualified to be elders to one of the elders before Sunday, June 20. Forms are available.

    GROUP 3 will meet today at 4:30 at the building.

    BUSINESS MEETING of the men with the elders will be held tomorrow, 7:00 p.m. at the building.

    VBS: Our vacation bible school begins next Monday, June 21 and runs through Friday, June 25. The theme this year is "The Battle Belongs to the Lord." VBS times are 10:00-11:30 AM.

    BIRTH: We congratulate ALYSON and NEAL KENDRICK in the birth of their new baby girl. ALYNN CAPRI KENDRICK was born Wednesday morning and weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 in. If you would like to provide a meal for the family, contact KRISTIN TOMES.

    SERMONS TODAY: This morning Jeff will continue his series on the "Eldership." Tonight Ben Walker will present a sermon entitled, "Choosing the Right Church."

    VISITATION: The visitation groups will meet Friday evening, June 4, 5:30 at the bldg. Greg Bacon will be coordinating the groups.

  • ALYSON KENDRICK'S grandfather, Andrew Whisenhunt, is in ICU at a Louisiana hospital. He has kidney failure and internal bleeding.

  • KRISTIN TOMES had gall bladder surgery last Tuesday. Everything went well and she is recovering at home.
  • TYLER FRANKLIN had surgery to remove a cyst Thursday at the Marshall Medical Center.
  • GLORIA DORSEY will undergo a stress test and echocardiogram at the Heart Center on Monday.
  • DAN HARRISON'S father, W.O. Harrison has been moved from Tuscaloosa to the Limestone Lodge in Athens. RUBY TRAVIS is in room 219 at Health South.
  • MARY HARBIN'S sister, Louise Moore is also at Health South in Room 316.
  • SCOTT WOODARD'S mother, Jean Woodard, had outpatient surgery on her wrist last Monday.
  • ALYSON KENDRICK'S grandfather, Andrew Whisenhunt, is hospitalized in Louisiana with kidney failure and internal bleeding? He is in ICU.
  • RAMONA BURRELL'S son, Jimmy Dale Long, is in Room 125 at Cogburn; he is not doing well.

  • GLORIA DORSEY had a heart stress test last Thursday and is awaiting the results.
  • RAMONA BURRELL’S son, Jimmy Dale Long is in Room 125 at Cogburn. His condition is much worse and Hospice has been called in.
  • ALYSON KENDRICK’S grandfather, Andrew Whisenhunt, is hospitalized in serious condition in Louisiana. He has kidney failure and internal bleeding and is in ICU.
  • MARY HARBIN’S sister, Louise Moore, is in Room 1541 at HSV Hospital. She is recovering from a broken hip.
  • SCOTT WOODARD’S mother, Jean Woodard will undergo surgery on her wrist Monday.
  • JP members battling cancer are CASSIE WATTS, BOBBY GOODE and BETTY REAVIS.
  • Relatives of JP members taking cancer treatments include DAVE SHUFORD’S grandson, Evan Thomason; MARY HARBIN’S sister, Betty Tucker; MELINDA HARRISON’S mother, Gay Cabaniss; TIM MICHELSON’S sister, Kim Michelson; and ABBY OWEN’S aunt, Lauren Hartung.
